My business is still very new--about two months old. The feedback has all been extremely positive about my tee. However, it's not selling. I've only sold a handful. I introduced the tee with a giveaway via my personal blog. Again there was a great response. Now, either folks have been blowing smoke about how much they love it or...well, I don't have an "or". My husband and a friend tell me to be patient. They say it'll happen when I least expect. That's a problem. I'm trying run a business, so I'm always anticipating the next sale. I can't not do that.

It's priced well and I haven't faltered on advertising. I've shared it with my friends and family. I've created a myspace and facebook page, a blog on the website, I've twittered, I've stumbled it, I've put the word out on at least a dozen social networking sites like this one. EVERYONE says "I have to have that shirt", "It's perfect, it says everything", "I need that shirt when I whip out my coupons", etc., etc.

I would think for every fifty persons claiming to love this tee, at least one would buy it. What gives?!

Thanx so much Lenesha. I did actually have a giveaway on my personal blog to introduce the tee. It was fair on participants, excellent on reception. I have some other things in the works like a collaboration giveaway with another coupon queen who's got a new product coming out soon. Also, I've offered to provide my tees for giveaways for Single Rose's website. I hope to be a vendor in the next 6-12 months at some local expos/showcases. I hadn't really thought about wholesales-didn't think I'd be into it, but I may consider it.

I've also been thinking that the lack of variety may be hindering some buyers. I think there's something about seeing several items for sale, of course desirable ones, that entices one to buy more. Hopefully, I can get two more tees out soon and over the next year release all my proposed items.

The direction I'm going with this line is kinda fresh, I think, and is very dependent on the release of my next tee. And my family suggested something similar to your e-book idea; I'll keep it in mind.

I will definitely check your giveaway. I hope you enjoy your tee. Thanx again! :)

Hi Teri. Magazine editor's are always looking for great content. Send a photo of your shirt and info to editors. Pick up the phone and simply start calling them. I've been featured in epregnancy and a couple of industry magazines that really helped my business and I didn't have to spend any money.

A great magazine would be "Real Simple" Good Luck. Can I buy one online?

I've thought of that. Maybe so.

Hi Terri - My business, Kennedale News is 2 years old. I too have been given extremely positive feedback about my product/newspaper. Yet, I am having a very very difficult time selling advertising - advertising dollars are down on singlerose.com too. I keep thinking that people in our community, [who say they love the newspaper] want to see a hometown newspaper remain in business and will come in and say it with their advertising dollars.

Lately, on a weekly basis I am considering throwing in the towel. I think the problems I'm having are stemming from the economy being so bad. Nobody wants to send any advertising dollars - but you would think, when the economy is down, and my advertising prices are so low, that I could sell an ad... I don't know - maybe the economy is the reason for your sagging sales???
